    A Walk In the Park

In order to de-stress from a week's of hard work. I suggested to baby that we shall take a walk in the park. During the week, I felt like I needed to be close to nature, in order to get my mind off work. However, nature wasn't very nice to us, because halfway through our walk, we were caught under the scorching sun.

During the start of the walk, the seaside was very breezy, and the weather was very nice. There were clouds shielding us from the sun. Anyways, I tried to take some photos with my new iPhone 4s. Haha.

I was amazed to see so many coconuts on the coconut tree, and the coconuts were all ripe. And also the kelongs. I thought they should be extinct by now.
We went to take a walk in the mangrove swamp. I saw this on the National Parks website, which is the reason why we went to Pasir Ris Park in the 1st place. There is a boardwalk, which is about 1m-1.5m above the mangrove, for visitors to walk on.

I thought there wouldn't be anyone there, because according to me, there isn't much to see there. However, we saw at least 15 people while walking there, and I am guessing some of them actually go there on a frequent basis for photography. There were some people setting up their huge-ass professional cameras, while I was snapping photos with my phone. Haha. There were many cobwebs across the boardwalk, and if you are not careful, you can easily walk into one.
Crabs. There were so many of them in the swamp.
There is a small mudskipper here, well camouflaged in the mud. If you can't see it, it just mean that it's a master. Haha.
We went to one of the look out points on the boardwalk, where we get to see a part of the river, or canal. We were supposed to find fishes that kills insects by spitting water on them, and water snakes. We saw none of those though, instead we saw jellyfishes in the murky water. There are 3 in the picture below. Can you spot them?
Close-up of a jellyfish. The tentacles are like pockets.
In the midst of our walk, we heard a loud, strange, and scary sound. I thought there was some huge dangerous animal in the mangrove. Later we found out that the sound was actually from these birds.
A huge mudskipper. According to one of the signboards, there are 2 types of mudskippers that can be found in the mangrove. One type is the giant mudskipper, the other is the tiny one. The giants can only be found in the deeper parts of the mangrove.
Another crab near the hole. Similar to the mudskipper, bigger ones can be found in deeper parts of the mangrove.
Another huge mudskipper. To be honest, the reason why I wanted to go there is because I wanted to see one of these huge mudskippers.
Shells. There are any to be seen there as well. However, as they didn't move, I have no idea whether they are dead or alive.
After we exited from the mangrove, we went to the Kitchen Garden. Most of the signboards had faded off, so we had no idea what type of vegetable or plant we were looking at. There was this part where it says European Herbs (probably the only signboard which didn't fade), and those herbs were very pretty.
Looks like it's taken in another country.
Found the park connector, which connects to Sun Plaza Park, and we decided to try to walk back. Bad decision, because I was wearing slippers. Halfway through the way, I can feel the stress on my knees, and my legs were sooooooo tired. Luckily I was with my wonderfully encouraging and understanding boyfriend.
We shall continue to explore more parks/nature reserves, because it's really a cheap way to spend the whole day together.

    Belated Valentine's Day

For this year's valentine's day, very sadly, baby was serving our country in Clementi camp. Hence, not only did we not get to spend that day together, I also didn't receive any thing from him. I was a little (very very little) upset about it.

I took this leave today, because I was very tired and thought I needed a rest, and Baby was able to meet me earlier, usually we meet after work. Once he reached the place we were supposed to meet, he presented me with a bouquet of red and pink roses. Haha... I was so happy that I couldn't stop smiling at him. Even though I have always thought that flowers are very useless, but I guess it still feels nice to receive flowers every now and then.

After that, he brought me to Tanjong Pagar, and I immediately know that he already has something planned, because usually he will ask me where and what I want to have for dinner, and we will usually have whatever I want to eat.

Anyway, he brought me to this Korean BBQ Buffet Restaurant called 2D1N, which he have been there before, and thought that the food was nice. Coincidentally, I have also heard my colleagues mention this restaurant before, and how nice the BBQ is.

The restaurant is cool because, before it opens at 530pm, everyone will write their names on a list outside the restaurant. The list is numbered, so that you will know your queue number, after you write your name on the list. After the restaurant opens at 530pm, the staff will start calling numbers, and you will be seated once your number is called. The restaurant is very small, and it's full like almost immediately after opening.

Here we are outside the restaurant, with the bouquet he gave me. ♥
The selection of food is very limited in the restaurant, but the meat are all very well marinated! Also, they provide free flow of this drink, which tastes like barley, but baby says it's a rice drink, and it is very delicious! However, it is very not worth it for us to go, as we are not big eaters. I think we were both full after spending 30 mins in the restaurant, and that includes the time taken to cook the meat.

After that, Baby sent me home, and presented 2 more surprises for me. He initially told me that the bag he has been carrying around all day, contains cups that he wanted to buy for his family. When I asked if I can take a look at them, I saw a black mug. I asked him if he had bought the plain mug because it's very cheap, and he didn't reply me.

Then, when I opened the 2nd box, it's this mug with a picture of 小猫 sleeping, with the words "Feeling Sleepyyy???? Coffee time!". Haha. I immediately know the mug was for me. Then baby baby took the plain black mug and said "我先用这个杯去喝水", which is damn weird, because he said he wanted to bring that mug home, and I have plenty of mugs at home. (*PAUSE*)

Please see photos of the mugs and my beautiful flowers.
This is actually 小猫 sleeping on my lap.
(*PLAY*) Anyway, so when hot water is poured into the plain black mug, a picture of 小猫 actually appears, with the words "BEST PAWS FOREVER". Baby said he had wrote everything himself, and I thought he is quite creative.
The other white mug actually glows in the dark, but you can't really see it here.
Anyway, baby said the person actually got the mugs mixed up, because the "BEST PAWS FOREVER" picture should be on the white mug, and the "COFFEE TIME" picture should be on the black mug (because coffee is a hot drink).

Nonetheless, I loved everything I have received today, and I love the man who gave them to me even more! ♥♥♥♥♥
