As i have been slacking at home today, and obviously was rather bored, i emptied my Hello Kitty piggy bank and counted how much i had.

Tadah! my pile of golden S$1 coins...

After arranging them in stacks of 10 coins and 10 stack per row, i have exactly S$410!!

And S$410 only fills half of my Hello Kitty piggy bank! If it is filled, i think i will have more than S$1k, because its head is humongous! Haha.

Hopefully i will be able to fill the Hello Kitty within the next year. This, together with Baby's milk bottle piggy bank, i think we will have more than S$3k once they are both filled. But he have been saving for a damn long time, even before i knew him, so i have no idea how much longer he needs to fill up that piggy bank.

I wonder what i should do tomorrow. It's going to be another day of having nothing to do.

Spending all my life
Spending all my life
Spending all my life

To my dearest boyfriend, who is currently doing his reservist:

    HAPPY 51ST MONTH!!

    I ♥ you!

Ever heard of gothere.sg? It's probably the best website i have ever used for finding my way around this small red dot and i personally think that it is way better than streetdirectory.

(Note: The pictures included are damn small so you may want to just go to the website and try it yourself, or you can continue to read and click on the pictures to enlarge)

For those who have already heard of this website, good for you, but for those who haven't, especially if you need to travel around Singapore for work, this is probably something you can't miss out!

The website looks like this and in the top left hand corner, type in where are you traveling from, and to where. The best thing about this website is that you can use both road names and landmarks in the same search.

Like in the example below, I searched "From Tampines Ave 5 (road name) to Vivocity (landmark)", and it will generate multiple ways of getting to your destination, which you can select, thanks to Singapore's very convenient public transport system.

I have selected the 2nd icon, which means I want to take any form of public transport, excluding taxis, and the result shows i should walk to the Tampines MRT station, take the train along the east-west line to Outram Park to switch to NEL, alight at Habourfront Station, and finally walk to Vivocity. It even shows the cost of the trip!

If you would want to take only buses to Vivocity, select the 1st icon and similarly, it shows what buses you should take and the estimated cost, because the fare now goes by the distance you travel, which can be inaccurate on some buses. There are various options for you to choose, which is arranged in accordance to the duration of the trip.

If you have some money to spare, or when you're in a hurry, and decide to take a cab, select the 3rd icon. It shows you the estimated cost of the trip, and if you're worried that your taxi driver does not know how to go to the place you want to go, especially if you're going to places like Tanjong Penjuru, which i am sure most people will not have a clue where it is, perhaps you can copy down the route shown in the website, and read it to the taxi uncle. Of course you only need to know which expressway to take, which exit and perhaps how to get to the place after you exit the expressway.

You can also choose to avoid expressways, if you're leaving at like 830am and is expecting a jam on PIE, and also to minimise ERP. And if you're planning to leave at 830am, and you know that there will be the peak hour surcharge, but you're doing the search at like 10pm at night, you can set the time and date at the top left hand corner, which is not shown here because it's not scrolled all the way up, and this smart website will include the peak hour surcharge into your total fare!

As mentioned, you can memorise the route and read it to the taxi uncle.

Lastly, for all car owners, who doesn't own a GPS, you can also do a search, by selecting the 4th icon, which is an image of a car. Note that the taxi icon have the taxi sign on top. The search result will be somewhat similar to the search using the taxi icon, except it doesn't include the fare. Now you can plan your trip the day before, and as you will know roughly how much time you need to get to your destination, you do not have to leave home 1hr in advance, when you can reach the place in less than 30mins. Of course it doesn't include time delay caused by unexpected traffic conditions, like fallen tree on expressway or car accidents, but i think it's good enough. Just be smart enough to leave like 10-15mins earlier to factor in the unexpected.

Oh! And what's better? It shows the nearby carparks, as well as the carpark rates! Isn't this just the best?

GoThere.SG is also available as an iPhone application, but it costs US$2.99. So, why not spend a little time doing an online search the day before, or before you leave house, so that you do not have to buy the application? Also, the screen on your desktop/laptop is definitely bigger than the tiny iPhone screen, and you can zoom until the roads are bigass wide.

To all friends who are wondering why am i doing this, it's because... I AM THIS BORED!

    2nd Day of Unemployment

My 1st day of unemployment consisted of going for 2 interviews and K-ing in the evening.

Today, i will be going for another interview for Fund Accountant Position and thus, i am mugging FRS 39. Sigh. Seriously, i think my mind had emptied out all its contents since after i graduated. FRS 39 looks so foreign to me, eventhough i am very sure i must have studied it at some point in time, because my Ng Eng Juan book is so heavily highlighted. Don't think i will be able to finish studying it today, but hope that everything goes well later.

A few more interviews coming up next week. I seriously hate going for interviews, because i am constantly nervous when talking to the interviewers. To be honest, there are 2 positions i am more inclined towards, so i hope i will do well for those interviews. Sigh.. Back to mugging.

Happy Lunar New Year to everyone!

This should be the time when I get my extra income from all the red packet collecting. Every year, I usually get close to S$1K worth of 压岁钱 from relatives and parents. However, this year, due to the death of my 干婆婆, we are not allowed to go visiting and hence, my extra income will be much less than previous years. My father did make up by giving us S$100 more this year though, meaning i get S$400 from his this year. THANK YOU DADDY!!

Anyway, being extremely bored at home, i took some random photos, while sitting in my room watching As i haven't found a photo editing software for Mac that is as good as photoscape, my photos will be rather dull (without the fanciful borders) this time.

    Update hours later..
The file size of the photos taken using my camera are too big, and the only way i could do a collage and resize the photos is to upload them into photobucket, which is quite tedious actually. Anyway, I just came back from the wake and is too tired to do anymore editing. Hence, only one collage uploaded.

Have to attend the wake tomorrow again. It's the 出殡 day. Although i am not very close to my 干婆婆, but attending the wake just now had somehow affected me emotionally. When we were burning the paper money and the paper house, we had to call out to her to ask her to come get those from the place we burned them. At that moment, i really felt that this person had left us, and i was sad from the bottom of my heart.
