Miss the people. Wednesday, February 25, 2009 Random-ness...      Monday, February 23, 2009 I spent a wonderful weekend again!! Saturday We were supposed to have havoc steamboat dinner at Bugis, Chong Qing, in the evening so I met Meixin to go shopping at Cityhall before the steamboat. After we have bought what we wanted to buy, Zhu En called and said that there is a bomb threat at Bugis. So she asked if we want to have dinner at Suntec instead. Since we do not have to pay for dinner, we agreed to the change of venue. So now, we have even more time to slack around before dinner time. When we reached Suntec, we found that there’s a travel fair by CTC going on there. Hence we went to check it out and out conclusion was to plan out own trip instead of going with a tour group. So people, if you know of any interesting places in Taiwan, please tell me k? Dinner was okay. Not as fantastic as Chong Qing, they do not have our favourite golden mushrooms; nonetheless, we ate until we were all extremely full. After dinner, we went to Settler’s café at SMU for some games and we played a single game for the whole of 2 hours. After that, Shu Long sent us home and darling was still awake, giving Wei Shan tuition, when I reached home at about 1am. Then something that upset me happened. Darling told me that since Wei Shan’s tuition is shifted to Saturday, normally it’s on Sunday, he is going to play soccer tomorrow morning with his friends at AMK. I was so freaking pissed because he didn’t think of wanting to spend time with me, since we spent very little time together for the week, and chose to play soccer with his friends early in the morning when he has been telling me that he hasn’t have enough sleep for a very long time. He apologised and promised to make it up to me next week but I was still very upset because when he has free time, the first thing he though of is not to spend it with me. Especially when he has been so busy and I didn’t even complain once. Sunday So the next day, I decided to go watch him play soccer at AMK so that we can spend more time together. I slept at 3+am and woke up at 730am to do so. I guess I’m just a very nice person. Haha. I sat under the sun despite darling and his friends keep asking me to move to the shade, which is quite a distance away, because I wanted to see them play lah. But I’ve learnt my lesson because I was sunburnt and had a terrible headache, which I still have now, and darling said it’s due to heat exhaustion. It’s feels good to see that darling had a great time playing because whenever we’re together, he’s too tired to be fun. Anyway, darling made up to me, and also because I’m so nice, by cancelling his tuition to go out with me. But 老天不作美 (don’t know if it’s supposed to be this phrase), it rained heavily when we were about to leave darling’s house to go catch a movie at Vivocity. We waited for 1 hour for the rain to subside until it was reasonable to go out. We watched “He’s Just not that into You”, which I did not really enjoy it because I was having a terrible headache at that time, and I was too tired because of the lack of sleep. But it was a 难得的一天 to be able to spend so much of a day with darling so I was still very happy. =) Friday, February 20, 2009 Ever thought of... Having a clearer view of what are your short, mid and long term goals, and if you're able to meet those goals financially? Want to know if you can better to help you meet your goals? Whether your investment is sufficient with the current inflation rate? How much risks are you willing to take and if your investments are within your risk tolerance? Why do you need 2 persons to take care of your investments and insurance when you can have one person to do the job? Then perhaps you're looking for a financial advisor, who can help you handle both your investment and insurance based on what you need and to help you keep your investments within your risk tolerance. (Of course if you have low risk tolerance, you cannot expect extremely high returns. After all, this is what we have been learning in school.) Also, a review will be done half yearly as things are expected to change every now and then right? You’ll never know, some day you make wake up and find that you’re a parent.For those that who don't already know, my boyfriend is a financial advisor, who is working with PIAS (Professional Independent Advisory Service), but I am not typing this entry just because I want to promote him. Anyway, the story goes like this... Darling wanted me to be the 1st one to sit down and do the Fact Find, which is a procedure to understand my goals, financial condition, and what policies and investments I already have, because he hopes that I can have a better understanding of what he is doing right now. So I sat down with him on Monday night and he went through with me my short, mid and long term goals. Since I think that I’m still young, I have never really thought of my goals seriously. Like, I always say that I want to marry soon but I don’t even know much I have to spend, and save, for a wedding dinner, the gown and the photo shoot. As for midterm goals, I have not even ever thought of those before. It was when he did the analysis with me when I seriously thought of my goals… how much savings I want to accumulate 5 years and 10 years down the road, what kind of house do I want to buy, whether I would want to upgrade my house, etc. I was quite happy with my current financial condition as I am paying for my own insurance policy, which doubles up as an investment, and thanks to my very smart mummy, I have investments in unit trusts as well. But then, much to my disappointment, I found out that I did not buy insurance policy, I bought an ILP! Meaning, if I were to treat it as an investment and withdraw the money in the future, I will not be insured anymore! I feel so cheated by the bank which I bought the ILP from. Now they are deducting $200/month from my bank account and it has been so for the past 3 years! Argh. So after realizing this, I decided that this dumb ILP will not be my life insurance policy, so I have to get one more, which mean I have to incur more money monthly. Sigh. Darling also helped me planned my retirement and asked me how much do I think I need if I were to have an accident and will not be able to work. That part was abit sad, but darling says it’s just life and it doesn’t hurt to be prepared for such things even if they do not happen. Basically, it’s just helping me to protect me and my family if such a thing ever happens and to see if my current policies is sufficient for me to cover my expected expenses in the future. After reading such a long entry, if you’re interested in having a financial analysis to get a wholesome view of your financial and insurance situation, please do not hesitate to contact me. Anyway, darling asked me to give referrals and I gave him 40. For those who are close enough to be reading my blog, it is HIGHLY LIKELY that you’re one of them, so he may be calling you~ Lastly, just want to say that it is good to understand what you want in life and whether you’re prepared for what is to come. But what’s the point of knowing what you lack if you don’t do anything about it right? Don’t worry because he will not recommend you things that you already have or do not need at all. He’s an honest man who wants to establish long term relationships. (As seen from our relationship. Haha!) Tuesday, February 17, 2009 How can I move on when I'm still in love with you... Cos if one day you wake up and find that you're missing me, And your heart starts to wonder where on this earth I can be, Thinking maybe you'll come back here to the place that we'd meet, And you'd see me waiting for you on the corner of the street. So I'm not moving... I'm not moving. Monday, February 16, 2009 FOUND THE BAND!!! It’s called 53A.
And this may be the last time i’m using the very user unfriendly Windows Live Writer 13.2.2009 (Friday the Thirteen) Went to Wala Wala with with darling, Meixin, Peijun and Zhuen because i wanted to introduce EIC to them. Actually, it was more because of i wanted to let them see Jac and hope that they’ll agree with me that he’s kind of cute lah. But the 1st reaction i got from Meixin was that he looks old. Then she went on to say that they are all kind of old. Haha. Anyway, i think they did not really enjoy themselves because Zhuen thinks that the music is too loud and Meixin wrote that it was better than expected because she expected it to be really bad. Hee. Anyway, we left before that sang their last song that night. Before EIC came at about 10pm, another band called 37 (or was it 57? 35?) was singing. Actually, it was only a very pretty girl, with pretty eyes and a nice smile, and another guy whom i think looks like Lee Hom. They were good! The girl can sing really well and her voice was jazzy. And she’s a very nice sight to see. Really pretty!! Zhuen and Meixin says she looks like Faye from FIR. We dedicated songs for both bands. And the girls dedicated Way Back Into Love for me and YZ but of course EIC didn’t sing because they don’t know how to and i guess it’s not their kind of song too.
The Girls Our drinks. 3 cranberry juices, 1 lime juice and 1 hoegaarden. 14.2.2009 (Valentines Day) Instead of going out to celebrate, darling came over to my house, after his training, and we both cooked dinner together for my mum, my sis and her BF. We cooked Japanese curry and pasta. Although it was our 1st time cooking Japanese curry and pasta, under the guidance of my sister, we managed to cook a relatively delicious dinner for them. At least i think we did a decent job. Haha. I tried to make salad, the meixin style and it turned out good also. Except i didn’t peel the skin of the pear, which is not edible because it’s very hard to chew. No pictures were taken because we were busy cooking and after we were done cooking, we eat immediately because we were hungry. Haha. Darling and i went to rent a DVD to watch, bought chips, which he finished almost all himself, and haagen dazs ice cream for my family. Darling also bought cakes from Cafe Cartel for my sisters as Vday cake, and they were at 50% off! Haha. Although it was a simple Vday, but it was still a day spent with him.
Wanna thank a certain friend, who is currently in ShangHai, for giving me advise on certain very important issues. In the past, i would be too hard headed to take her advice, but now, guess we have both matured and toned down. Haha. Thank you Jenny!! Sunday, February 8, 2009 Darling had finally gotten his license!!! Yipee~~~~ So happy for him =) Meixin, Peijun, Zhu en and i went to each other’s house to 拜年 yesterday. Gambled the whole time when we were at Zhu en’s and peijun’s houses. Had steamboat dinner at meixin’s house. Her mum opened a can of abalone for us!! Haha. So generous~ CNY is almost over and Valentines is coming! Looking forward to Wala on Friday and cooking together on Saturday. *Btw, i’m using windows Live Writer to blog for the 1st time. Hopefully is successful. |
