Sunday, May 1, 2011 I realised a Secondary Classmate of mine is running for the upcoming elections, contesting in the Ang Mo Kio GRC, as part of the opposition party. However, it is stated, in his Facebook page, that he is 23 years old! How is it so, when I am 24 this year and we were in the same class in Secondary 3 & 4? ![]() ![]() ![]() Like I have mentioned earlier, I am totally neutral, because I have doubts in both PAP and the opposition parties. I agree that PAP had done a not-too-bad job in governing the country for the past many years, but of course, competition is required to remind them not to be complacent and to improve themselves. And yes, they may have made several mistakes, but who doesn't? Can the opposition guarantee that they will not make a single mistake if they were to be the ruling party? The biggest wrong move they did, for the elections this year, was bringing in TPL, who says that the costs of education and medical is low in Singapore. WTH, seriously? Then why are people taking study loans? I mean we can all understand why Singaporeans are so pissed with her, and whatever she says in interviews goes onto youtube. She's probably just rich and doesn't bother to find out what are the majority of the Singaporeans facing in Singapore. But, she's only one person. As for the opposition parties, I only have a deeper impression on Nicole Seah. Younger than TPL, I feel that she is more mature and probably smarter then her. I mean, her rally speeches are rather convincing. However, she's also only one person. In MY OPINION, which I hope i am entitled to, the rest of the opposition parties are not as prominent, or as famous, as her. Lastly, for my classmate in Secondary School. He's too low profile. Even though, he is the YOUNGEST candidate, whether true or not, I don't think anyone is very aware of his presence. |
