    My Grad Trip!

    Day 1

It was 19 degrees when we reached Taiwan. As compared to the hot and humid weather in SG. It was heavenly. We went straight to 五分埔 for shopping. But since we had extended our stay in Taiwan, we decided to leave the shopping to later so that our luggage will not be too heavy.

After we left 五分埔, we went to Taipei 101. We didn't go up to the top level because meixin said she went up before and the ticket is very expensive. So we walked around the mall, sat down at the food court to slack, went to the toilet and boarded the bus.
Went to 逢甲夜市 for dinner. The tako balls are huge, they gave 6 per box and it's still cheaper than SG's. There's cabbage inside the tako balls. DELICIOUS. We also had bubble milk tea. which PJ thought was nice. Meixin said that there is bird flu so we did not try their fried chicken cutlet.
Then we went back to our hotel to rest for the day.

    Day 2

Morning call was at 6am and we left the hotel after breakfast to head for 阿里山. There were ALOT of tiongs there. Meixin said it's like little india except they are all tiongs. Anyway, the tiongs are disgusting! They don't close the toilet doors when they shit or pee and they shit all over the floor! Out of 20 cubicles in the toilet, 10 had shit/pee all over the floor. The singaporeans did not dare to use the toilet so there was a long queue. After 阿里山, i decided not to use any of the toilets that are used by the tiongs, unless i'm gg to pee in my pants already. Lucky for me, i have a strong bladder.

After that, we went to 六合夜市 for dinner. We had 担仔面, 大肠包小肠, 水饺, 七里香(chicken backside) and black pepper bun for dinner. All recommended by our tour guide.
After dinner, we went to 爱河 to see their 鱼尾龙. Went back to hotel after that. Managed to connect to the internet at the hotel so i could email darling! Hee.
    Day 3

Travelled to Kenting. The wind is damn strong there because, as explained by the guide, it is where 2 seas meet. Went to the shooting place of 海角七号, which we all didn't watch. Then we went to a place called 猫鼻头 to take photos.

Went to the ocean park, which is near kenting. It's like underwater world at sentosa.
Then we travelled to 台中 for dinner at the Dream Mall. The tour guide recommended the Japanese buffet, which costs NTD 490 (SGD 22) per person. The food there is very sumptuous, as u can see in the photos. There were oysters, crab, fish, scallop, abalone, lobster, sashimi, etc. And u can keep ordering, if u can finish the food. We only ordered one round and were too full to eat anymore. We even gave food to other people.
After dinner, we went to take the Hello Kitty ferris wheel!!! Whee~ The ferris wheel is at the top of Dream Mall.

    Day 4

In the morning, we went to a place, which i forgot what the name is. Took some photos.

Then we proceeded to 佛光山. Most of the places we went restricts people from taking photos from inside the building. So we could only take photos of the exterior.
After that, we went to 剑湖山 theme park. After soooo long, i finally took the roller coaster again. Think the last time i rode on one was at least 8 yrs ago, at genting. Haha. My eyes were shut throughout the ride and i will not be so crazy to ride it again. Hate the crazy feeling in my stomach.
Wanted to sing KTV at the theme park after the roller coaster but it wasn't open. So we had coffee at the coffee museum instead. The orange tea meixin and peijun had was very nice.
    Hotel for the 4th night.
    Day 5

Went to see some reservoir, but it was all dried up already. Nothing much there.

Took 高铁 from Taoyuan to Taipei. At the train station, we told our guide we wnted to cancel our extension, so we are going back with them.
Went to 九份. It's an old street with very narrow roads. We constantly had to give way to the trucks making delivery there. Brought 太阳饼, charcoal peanuts and pudding back for darling and my family. They also have some interesting food like 花生包冰淇淋, which was delisious but i gave up eating because of my sensitive teeth, and a long spiral of potato chips.
Proceeded to our hot sring resort for the night. PJ and i tried the hot spring, which was really freaking hot! The guide said there is sulphur n the spring water so we shouldn't dip ourselves too deep into the spring water. After a while, i felt dizzy and out of breath so i came out and showered with cold water to close up my pores.

    Day 6

We told the guide we will be leaving the tour group to go shopping, since we are not extending our stay. But we wanted to hav lunch with them, since it is included in the trip, so we went to some museum with them.

We had lunch at 5 cents driftwood restaurant. The restaurant is huge! The food is not fantastic but i like the muah chee.
After that, we took a cab to 五分埔 for shopping. Then we took a train to Taipei station and switched to the MRT to go to 西门町, where we were supposed to meet our tour group. Had dinner at 魔法咖喱, which was recommended by meixin's friend.

Met up with the tour group and we had only a little time left for shopping. Went back to the hotel with the tour group. Look at the things we bought in one day!!
    Day 7

Went to Taipei zoo. Our guide said that we don't have the chance to see the pandas as the queue was too long. And guess what?? Most of the people in the queue were from CHINA. Stupid tiongs.

Reasons why they shouldn't be Q-ing:

    • Those pandas were from them
    • They have plenty back at home

Took the plane back to Singapore. Darling borrowed his friend's car to pick me and meixin up. Sent Meixin home.

    The Hello Kitty related stuff..

That's the end of my grad trip.
